There are many way to see UNESCO World Heritage Listed K'gari (Fraser Island). From a quick glimpse of the highlights with a popular guided day tour to a multi-day independent experience, and anything in between....we have it here for you to choose from.

A guided day tour will take you to some of the top spots on K'gari, including:

You will also experience the diversity of K'gari’s flora and fauna as you drive on sand tracks through bush scrub with Scribbly Gums and Eucalypts to ancient rainforests filled with Satinays, ferns and Hoop Pine.

Longer tours allow you to visit other lakes (with fewer people), travel further up the East Coast to the Champagne Pools, and venture over to the Remote West Coast to stunning Wathumba Creek all the way down to Coongul Creek (which you cannot get to in a day tour, unless you join our Beach + BBQ cruise in the Summer months, November - May).

Guided Tours

Choose between a fully guided day tour or a partially guided tag along multi-day tour. There are a few to choose from to suit the needs of you and your family.

Fully Guided Tour

You'll see the highlights of the Island, as listed above. These tours are a full day and include your meals, guide/driver and courtesy bus accommodation transfers. They all go to the same places, but offer different inclusions and different sized vehicles. The fewer people there are in the vehicle, the more expensive it is. Partially Guided (Tag Along) Tour

What is a tag along tour? Well, in the words of the experts, Fraser Dingo 4wd Tours who run these Tag Along tours...

Tag Along Tour K'gari Fraser Island no drive "This is an organised tour where the lead 4WD is driven by our experienced and knowledgeable guide. The following 4WD's are driven by you guys, the customers that nominate to drive on the tour. You don’t need experience driving a 4WD, our thorough safety briefing and experienced guide will make sure you are ready for a once in a lifetime driving experience! Customers tell us it is the best thing they have done in Australia! You must be 21 years of age or over to drive, but don’t worry if you are under 21, you can still come along as a passenger and experience the best 4WD adventure!"

Independent Tours

If you're really looking for adventure and want to see the island in your own time at your own pace, then hiring a 4wd may be for you. You can hire one with or without a camper:
- with a camper: minimum 1 night (2 days), you can set up at a pre-booked camp spot anywhere on the island. Rooftop tent caters for couples only.
- without a camper: hire for as little a 1 day (up to 5 days), you can choose your own accommodation in one of the resorts or many houses for rent on the island - or with your own tent. Great if you have more than 2 people in your group.

Please note: if you're booking an Island tour on one of the smaller group tours, in peak season (December-February or July-October), there may not be any availability, especially if you're only booking a month or two in advance. As soon as you know you're coming to the region, we recommend booking as soon as you can, to avoid disappointment.
