Hervey Bay Whale Watching Experience

Best half-day Humpback Whale Watching in Hervey Bay.

Guaranteed sightings - July 18th, 2020 to mid-October, 2020.

Singing about Whalesong Cruises:  Absolutely marvelous day. Couldn't ask for a more up close and personal experience. Staff were fabulous and accommodating. Utmost co-vid standards upheld by staff - rails and common areas sanitised during the cruise and masks and gloves worn by staff at mealtime. Food was lovely and fresh. Would go again in a heartbeat! kpean67, August 2020

"Wonderful experience seeing these majestic playful creatures. A huge thankyou to all the staff at Whalesong cruises, so friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was great, the whole day was fantastic." kdrudder, August 2020

Whalesong's Extended Morning Whale Watch will get you out on the Bay and interacting with the whales before the other boats, but still back in time to be able to make use of your afternoon.  Of all the morning cruises, Whalesong's spends the longest on the whales.  In addition, enjoy a lunch (cold roast chicken, ham, greek salad, green salad, potato salad and fresh bread) whilst cruising back to the marina.

Afternoon + Sunset Whale Watch: 4 hours +, 2pm - 6pm-ish: Afternoon tea and Dinner included

"My husband and I did 2 tours, both afternoons....Such a treat to see these majestic animals playing in their big playground. Captain Doug was excellent, skilfull, and gave his all to locate the whales, provided an excellent commentary throughout the trip touched with humour,...a well kept, comfortable boat with plenty of room to move...The crew were wonderful and friendly as they delivered complimentary foods and drinks...and managed the covid restrictions well.  Excellent trips...we would highly recommend Whalesong to anyone wanting a truly magical whale experience."  Colleen, August 2020

Our Afternoon Cruise is great if you want to optimise your time in Hervey Bay as it enables you to fit in a whale watch cruise on the same day you arrive as we're the last full-service boat (in other words, includes food and courtesy hotel transfers) to leave in the afternoon.  During the cruise back to the marina, we enjoy a dinner (roast chicken and gravy and a selection of salads - if it's not rough, we'll also enjoy hot soup and bread) whilst taking in a stunning sunset Hervey Bay is known for.

Whichever cruise you choose, you'll be pleased you chose Whalesong for your whale watching in Hervey Bay. With our commitment to the environment and sustainable practices, you can feel comfortable knowing your experience is not at the expense of the environment these incredible creatures live in.
